Biographical Sketch:
Biography: Christian Brun-Buisson Prof. Christian Brun-Buisson was born in 1949. He is professor of medicine and Intensive Care at university Paris Val de Marne. Since 2001, he has served as director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Henri Mondor Hospital in Créteil, France. In 1999, he was appointed Chair of the Infection Control Committee of the Paris public hospitals consortium (Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris) and he also chairs since 2005 the Advisory Board of the French national programme for Prevention and Control of health-care associated infections at the MoH. Prof. Brun-Buisson is a past Deputy Editor of Intensive Care Medicine and he is currently a member of the editorial boards of several other international medical journals, including ICHE. His major fields of interest, reflected in over 200 scientific publications, are the epidemiology, clinical study and therapy of sepsis, hospital-acquired infections and antimicrobial resistance.
