Biographical Sketch: Maggie Dudeck, B.S., MPH, is a Public Health Analyst for the NHSN Training Team in the Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion at CDC. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Illinois University and, in 2005, earned her Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology from Emory University.
Maggie began her career with CDC in 2003, working as a graduate student with DHQP on the NNIS system, and eventually, NHSN. Her graduate work concluded with an analysis of NNIS data, specifically, surgical site infections following breast surgeries. After she earned her MPH, she worked with Emory Healthcare as an Infection Control Coordinator. During her time with Emory, she was responsible for researching electronic surveillance tools and provided data assistance and technical expertise to the Infection Control department.
In 2006, she returned to CDC, where she is now responsible for the development and maintenance of new self-study NHSN training courses. She also provides direct user support and documentation, and is actively involved the development and maintenance of the NHSN Online Manual Help System. She provides subject matter expertise to inter-agency working groups and clinical document architecture. Her current responsibilities with CDC allow her to present and demonstrate NHSN to various groups throughout the country.
