Biographical Sketch:
Daniel A. Pollock is a medical epidemiologist and the Surveillance Branch Chief in CDC's Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion. The Surveillance Branch has lead programmatic responsbility at CDC for the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN), a web-based system used by CDc and its partners for surveillance of healthcare-associated infections, healthcare personnel safety, and blood transfusion safety. Dr. Pollock has worked at CDC for over 25 years, and most of his work has focused on use of healthcare data for public health surveillance. He is actively involved in CDC's efforts to leverage healthcare data in electronic form and use of health data standards for public health reporting purposes.
