Biographical Sketch:
2009/09/04 Wolfgang A Krueger, MD, PhD: short biography Wolfgang A Krueger is professor of anaesthesiology and intensive care medicine at the University of Tuebingen, Germany and chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at Clinics of Constance, in Constance, Germany. Before, he was Director of the intensive care units at Tuebingen university hospitals, where he was trained in anaesthesiology and intensive care since 1994. In 1998/99, he worked as post doc at the Channing Laboratory, Brigham and Womens`Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, USA. His main research interests lie in the pathogenesis, prevention, and treatment of infections in ICU patients and the ecological consequences of antibiotic use. Most of his publications are on the following topics: selective decontamination of the digestive tract (SDD), optimising antimicrobial treatment in critically ill patients by improving the pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic relationships, and dosing regimens in severely ill patients with organ dysfunctions.
