Biographical Sketch: Kristi Kuper, Pharm.D, BCPS is the Clinical Director of Infectious Diseases for Cardinal Health. She is primarily responsible for developing programs to assist hospitals with managing anti-infective utilization and reducing antimicrobial resistance. Dr. Kuper has been with Cardinal Health since 2002. To date, she has worked in various capacities with over 150 hospitals nationwide. Prior to her current position, she was the Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator for Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas. She is a member of several national infectious disease organizations including the American Society of Microbiology, Infectious Disease Society of America, and the Society of Infectious Disease Pharmacists. She is also a member of the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. She has served on a number of committees related to antimicrobial stewardship including a CDC sponsored workgroup on anti-infective utilization in US hospitals and the IHI Antimicrobial Stewardship Driver Diagram development committee. She also developed an antimicrobial stewardship training program that has been completed by over 900 pharmacists nationwide. Dr. Kuper received her Pharm.D. degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and completed a pharmacy practice residency at the James A Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, Florida. In addition, she is a site coordinator for the University of Houston/Cardinal Health Infectious Diseases specialty pharmacy residency and is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.
