Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Mody is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine/Geriatric Medicine at University of Michigan and a Research Scientist at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System. Dr. Mody is also the Associate Director, Clinical Programs for Ann Arbor VA GRECC and serves as the physician member for the Contract Nursing Homes Oversight Committee. She has assisted Michigan Antimicrobial Resistance Reduction (MARR) coalition in developing the long-term care tool kit to prevent antimicrobial resistance in healthcare settings. She also has an intense focus and track record in conducting evidence based research in skilled nursing facilities and aging populations. She is an Internist and a Geriatrician with a Masters in Epidemiology as well as practical experience with numerous papers utilizing surveys in skilled nursing facilities. Dr. Mody is also trained in commonly use microbiology and molecular methods. When conducting empirical studies under NIA K 23 award as well as an RO1, she assembled a unique group of community skilled nursing facilities in Southeast Michigan with an interest in research on infection prevention. She has published numerous papers using these sites.
