Infection Preventionist for 300-bed hospital. Responsible for monitoring Infection Prevention and Control Practices, and reporting communicable diseases. Collecting, interpreting and documenting statistics on Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI). Coordinating employee and patient services with the employee health office, and the local and state health departments, including the control of outbreaks and exposure follow-up. Inservicing hospital employees, students, housestaff and volunteers on infection prevention and control policies and procedures, OSHA regulations, and other pertinent topics. Provide consultation to staff, as well as patient/family teaching. Develop policies and procedures as indicated, and participate on multidisciplinary committees and Collaboratives.
