Biographical Sketch: Dr. Trivedi, a medical epidemiologist, developed, manages and leads the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program Initiative of California at the California Department of Public Health. This initiative strives to help California hospitals implement and strengthen legislatively mandated antimicrobial stewardship programs including the development of an antimicrobial utilization and resistance surveillance system. She also manages healthcare associated outbreak investigations in California. Prior to joining the California Department of Public Health, Dr. Trivedi was the Medical Director of the Downtown Clinic, a multidisciplinary clinic for homeless veterans in San Francisco. Thereafter, she served as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer in the United States Public Health Service with the Enteric Diseases Epidemiology Branch at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta. At CDC she led multiple outbreak investigations including Salmonella Saintpaul and histoplasmosis, a case-control study of Salmonella I 4,[5],12:i:- and a longitudinal health impact study on childhood diarrhea in Indonesia. Dr. Trivedi received her medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine and completed residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco.
