Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Roselle is currently the Program Director for Infectious Diseases for VA Central Office in Washington D.C. The scope of this national program includes infectious diseases, infection control and the VA’s Emerging Pathogens Initiative. He also Co-Chairs the Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus initiative in VHA. In addition, he is the Chief of Medicine at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center; a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, and Associate Chairman of the Department of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Roselle serves or has served on multiple national VA and interagency Advisory Committees. He serves as the VA representative on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Advisory Council for the Elimination of Tuberculosis (ACET), the CDC’s National Task Force to Combat Multi-drug-Resistant Tuberculosis, CDC’s Public Health Action Plan to Combat Antimicrobial Resistance Task Force, Forum on Microbial in the Division of Health Sciences Policy of the Institute of Medicine (IOM) National Academy of Sciences, CDC’s Healthcare infection Control Practices Advisory Committee (HICPAC), and the Health and Human Services’ Steering Committee for the Prevention of Healthcare-Associated Infections. Dr. Roselle’s formal research endeavors have included host response to toxins with an emphasis on alcohol. He has published over 95 papers and 11 book chapters. Dr. Gary Roselle received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Ohio State University School of Medicine in 1973. He served his residency at Northwestern University School of Medicine and his Infectious Diseases Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati.
