Summary: The aims of this session are to familiarize attendees with the impact of disasters, strategies needed to minimize infection transmission related to disasters, and the updated status on disaster preparedness plans in different countries around the world. Infection prevention interventions that should be implemented for various settings, including hospitals, home health, long-term care, alternate care sites, and PODs will be provided. This session will be of particular interest to persons interested in global infection prevention strategies during disasters.
