Summary: MRSA remains the most common multidrug-resistant organism (MDRO) in many healthcare settings. This session will review current progress in MRSA prevention, discuss whether MRSA-specific approaches detract from other important prevention priorities. Special attention will be given to the impact of local mandates for MRSA screening as will benefits and consequences of screening healthcare workers for MRSA. Presenters will also identify current research and evidence base from MRSA prevention.

- Review the impact of state legislative mandates for MRSA screening
- Evaluate the pros and cons of screening healthcare workers (HCWs) for MRSA carriage
