Summary: Prompt and effective investigation of outbreaks is important in ensuring the safety of patients and promoting quality healthcare. Outbreaks can also help identify emerging challenges to patient safety and help inform the development of guidelines and regulations. This session will discuss some of the challenges and opportunities posed by outbreak investigations using examples of recent investigations.
