Summary: Despite the passage of groundbreaking legislation in the US in 2000, needlestick injuries continue to pose a serious occupational global threat to healthcare workers. This session will provide assessment and insights regarding global sharps safety policy and device use trends. Speakers will also briefly consider the complimentary roles of education, behavioral change, and unmet research needs as they identify the next decade’s challenges.
